Main Requirements

Access to our homes requires meeting a series of requirements, including the following. To check the full details of the conditions, documentation and requirements applicable to the process, please consult the award bases.

Legal residence

Have Spanish nationality, or legal residence in Spain.

Income limit

Comply with the established income limits: maximum income per cohabitation unit may not exceed 2.5 times the IPREM.

Spending limit

Do not allocate more than 30% of the cohabitation unit's annual net income to the payment of the total annual rent.

Minimum income

Prove minimum income per family unit for the past fiscal year:

€21,000 annually for 1 bedroom

€23,300 annually for 2 bedrooms

Coming of age

Natural persons of legal age, who have full civil powers and do not have any limitation on their civil capacity.

Census

Be registered in the municipality of Málaga with an uninterrupted minimum residency of one year, counted immediately before the date the application is submitted.

Habitual residence

Use the home as the habitual and permanent residence of the applicant family unit and occupy it within the legally established deadlines.

Registration as a protected housing applicant

Have submitted the application as an applicant for protected housing in the Municipal Registry of Protected Housing of the Málaga City Council.

Not having another home

That none of the members of the family unit hold full ownership or a real right of lifelong use or enjoyment over another home anywhere in the national territory, whether protected or free-market housing.

Conflict of interest

Neither the applicant nor any member of their family or cohabitation unit may be in a situation of conflict of interest.

Award process

01

Opening of registrations

The deadline for submitting applications will be 15 business days, counted from the day indicated in the announcement of the call on the website.

Registration form

Applications will be submitted to the Instituto Municipal de la Vivienda de Málaga, using the standardized declaration of responsibility form provided for this call, through the electronic registry or the procedure enabled on the municipal electronic office.

Preparation of lists

Once the application submission period has ended, the Instituto Municipal de la Vivienda de Málaga will draw up a provisional list of applications submitted for this call.

Once the period for objections to the provisional list of submitted and resolved applications has ended, the Instituto Municipal de la Vivienda de Málaga will approve and publish the final list of applications, including the order number assigned to each application, which will be used in the draw.

Draw

The draw will be carried out by the Instituto Municipal de la Vivienda de Málaga, before a public notary, using the system, routine or mechanism determined by that body, guaranteeing the principles of publicity, equality, transparency and competition.

Home assignment

The provisional assignment of a specific home will be made following the order established in the Ordered List of Selected Applications provided by the Instituto Municipal de la Vivienda de Málaga.

Documentary accreditation

At the time of assignment, following the order established in the corresponding Ordered List of Selected Applications, we will contact you regarding the provisional assignment of a specific home to your application and request the documentation necessary to accredit the requirements, which you must provide within a maximum period of 15 business days from the request.

Approval of the list by the IMV and issuance of certificate

The Superficiario will submit to the Instituto Municipal de la Vivienda de Málaga the provisional list of pre-award applicants, together with the corresponding documentation for verification.

The Instituto Municipal de la Vivienda de Málaga will verify and validate the documentation provided in order to issue the certificate.

Formalization of the contract

After the documentary validation of the requirements and acceptance of the home, the rental contract will be prepared and formalized. This will be formalized through its signature within a maximum period of one month from the full accreditation of compliance with the requirements, as well as from the issuance of the corresponding certificate by the IMV, and provided that the homes are habitable.

Key delivery

Once the contract has been signed, we will contact you to schedule the key delivery date.
