We continue advancing the development of Distrito Universidad with the opening of the allocation process for plot R12, a new development of 202 general-regime homes for affordable rent in Málaga.
With this launch we continue driving one of the largest protected rental housing developments in Andalusia, a project comprising 530 homes that has become a benchmark for public-private collaboration in improving access to housing.
The R12 development offers 1- and 2-bedroom homes, all with a parking space and storage room, plus common areas such as a swimming pool, coworking spaces, an outdoor gym and children's areas.
The allocation process will be run in coordination with the Instituto Municipal de la Vivienda (IMV, Málaga's Municipal Housing Institute). The call's terms are published today in the BOP (official provincial bulletin), and the registration period will remain open from 13 to 31 July.
Distrito Universidad has been designed to high standards of sustainability and energy efficiency, with an A energy rating and BREEAM certification, reinforcing Lagoom Living's commitment to a more efficient and responsible residential model.
This project is part of a public-private collaboration model developed jointly by the Government of Spain, the Regional Government of Andalusia and Málaga City Council. The development, backed by European Union Next Generation funds, is financed by the Instituto de Crédito Oficial (ICO) through the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism.
As an added benefit, future Distrito Universidad tenants will be able to take advantage of the collaboration between Lagoom Living and IKEA Málaga, giving them access to exclusive offers to furnish and equip their homes on preferential terms.
